New Patient Exam

The new patient exam is your introduction to Ellis County Family Dentistry and Dr. DeHay. We are committed to helping our patients achieve the highest level of oral health. All of our treatment rooms are equipped with flat screen monitors so that you can view your digital x-rays and intraoral pictures along with the doctor. During your initial exam we will be conducting a thorough examination compiling information from: 

• Your own goals
• Your health and dental history
• Digital x-rays – utilizes 90% less radiation
• Digital photography
• Examination with an intraoral camera – the size of a dental mirror, this camera allows us to get an up close view of your teeth
• Oral cancer screening
• Periodontal examination
• TMJ function as it relates to your jaw
• Any other necessary information in helping you achieve excellent oral health

As long as we see no evidence of gum disease, we will complete a thorough cleaning and provide any oral hygiene recommendations. 

After the examination, Dr. DeHay will review your treatment options so you fully understand your dental needs. At that time, we will also discuss any financial questions you have and help you schedule any necessary appointments.

Appointment Cancellation Policy

The patients of Ellis County Family Dentistry are provided the highest level of care and service. We respect our patients' time and in order to complete treatment at a pace they are comfortable with, we do not double book or overfill our schedule. We, therefore, require at least 48 hours notice prior to canceling. Patients who cancel their appointment without proper notice will be assessed a missed appointment fee to offset the lost production time and estimated amount of time and effort the staff has already spent preparing for the appointment.

We understand that unplanned events occur everyday. Should such an event occur, and a reasonable effort is made to contact our office to explain the situation, no charges will be assessed.
